Lightning Experience is a new, fast, modern user interface experience from Salesforce. Lightning Experience comprises numerous new features and completely redesigned pages. Salesforce allows customers to switch back and forth from Lightning to Classic or vice-versa using Switcher, as shown in the following screenshot.
Learn more about enabling Lightning Experience for your organization by navigating the Lightning Experience Trailhead module. Let’s start with a business use case.
Business Use case
Cathal Murtagh is working as a System administrator at Gurukul on Clou (GoC). They have just enabled Lightning Experience for Sales Reps EMEA profile. To make sure that Sales Reps EMEA users adopt the new experience, they want to disable the Switch to Salesforce Classic functionality so that they are forced to use the new Lightning Experience.
Automation Champion Approach (I-do):
There are a few possible solutions for the above business scenario, but I’ll update System Permissions on the user’s profile to solve the above business requirement.
Let’s get started:
- Click Setup.
- In the Quick Find box, type Profiles.
- Select Sales Reps EMEA.
- Click Edit.
- Find Hide Option to Switch to Salesforce Classic and click the checkbox.
- Click Save.
- A dialogue box will appear. Review the permissions are correct before clicking Save.
Proof of Concept
Let’s check our work! Log in as a user that has been assigned the Sales Reps EMEA profile. They should no longer be able to switch from Lightning to Classic moving forward.
I want to hear from you!
