  • and much more

Business Use case

Isabella Stewart, a Salesforce Administrator at Gurukul On Cloud (GoC), was approached by Sales Director Eric Brown. He asked her to enable reps to create quotes without linking them to an opportunity in order to expedite deals.

Automation Champion Approach (I-do):

A sales quote, often referred to as a sales quotation or price quote, represents a seller’s proposal to a prospective buyer, detailing the cost and conditions of a prospective sale. Serving as a pivotal tool in both business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C) interactions, a sales quote varies in its application across these two sectors.

Within the B2B realm, a sales quote often acts as the initial step, offering potential buyers an idea of the anticipated cost, thereby assessing their interest in a product or service. If the buyer is interested, they usually ask for a formal proposal.

Conversely, in the B2C sector, the sales quotation often emerges after the sales journey. The buyer has already decided they want to purchase the product or service, and they’re simply requesting a written price quote to compare it to other offers.

Follow the steps below to create a quote without linking it to an opportunity:

  1. Click Setup.
  2. In the Quick Find box, enter Quotes Settings, and then select Quotes Settings.
  3. Select Create Quotes Without a Related Opportunity.
