After Spring’14 release Salesforce.com increased file storage capacity for per paid user license from 612MB to 2GB and it’s applicable to only Enterprise, Unlimited and Performance editions. It’s means now you will have extra storage capacity to store more files on the cloud.
Data Storage
Salesforce.com offers minimum amount of data storage for each editions. Data Storage include records from these objects Accounts , Article types, Article type translations (format: “[Article Type Name] Version”), Campaigns, Campaign Members, Cases, Case Teams, Contacts, Contracts, Custom objects , Email messages, Events, Forecast items, Google docs, Ideas, Leads, Notes, Opportunities, Opportunity Splits, Quotes, Quote Template Rich Text Data, Solutions, Tags: Tag applications,z Tags: Unique tags, Task. Below table defines data storage for each editions

Let’s take an example, if you have 40 users for Enterprise editions so data storage will be 40*20 MB = 800 MB but you will receive 1 GB data storage capacity because 800 MB which is less than the 1 GB minimum as per above table. If you have 50 users for performance edition then in this case you will get 50 * 120 MB = 6000 MB which is greater than 1 GB.
Note:- For data storage, Contact Manager, Group, Professional, Enterprise, Performance, and Unlimited Editions are allocated either 1 GB or a per-user limit, whichever is greater.
File Storage
Salesforce.com offers minimum amount of File storage for each editions. It’s includes files in attachments, Documents tab, Files tab, File field, Salesforce CRM Content, Chatter (including user photos), and Site.com assets. Below table defines File storage for each editions

File storage in Contact Manager, Group, Professional, Enterprise, Performance, and Unlimited Editions are allocated a per-user limit multiplied by the number of users in the organization plus an additional per-organization allocation. Let’s take an example, If you have an Performance Edition organization with 220 users receives 451 GB of file storage. Here is the calculation (220 * 2 GB ) + 11 GB= 451 GB. A Contact Manager Edition organization with 50 users, receives about 41 GB of file storage. Here is the calculation (50 * 612 MB) + 11 GB= 41 GB. Increased file storage is available within one month after Spring ’14.
Note:- The values in the Storage Allocation Per User License columns in above two tables are apply to Salesforce and Salesforce Platform user licenses. If your organization uses custom user licenses, contact salesforce.com to determine if these licenses provide additional storage.
